AGENTS, PARTNERS & CHARITY

We take great pride in our network and their contribution to the experience of cultural childcare with a passion.

AGENTS

Families benefit from the knowledge, focus and added value that our agents provide - much of which as a result of successful involvement in the au pair industry. Our agencies are based all over Europe and speak the language of the candidate. They understand that quality and honesty are key to success.

Agents are responsible for
  • providing information about the au pair program to prospective au pairs in their native language
  • interviewing candidates
  • testing language skills of candidates
  • double checking that potential candidates have read and understood the information provided in native language to avoid misunderstandings
  • validating the additional information provided by the au pair candidates (reference check, police & medical documents)

PARTNERS

We recognise that the au pair experience is a big step and we would like to make it as inviting as possible.
We are keen to collaborate with companies that have relevant products for au pairs and/or host families.

We are looking for a benefit on
  • Travel products ranging from interesting and affordable excursions to flight tickets,
  • Practical product of relevance such as gap year insurance and banking
  • Communication products such as UK Mobile, online calling, broadband packages, webcam to keep in touch
  • Valuable information on childcare training, education, entertainment, excursions, where and how to meet like minded people
  • Fun products to recommend to our host families, fun and educational (just like the au pair experience!)
We are looking for money off for our au pairs and for host families. In exchange for this, we offer you a preferred partner feature in our marketing material and on our website.

And naturally, we introduce your brand to new customers. Au pairs are ambitious, many have a degree, some of them go on to be top executives. Our host families are caring, educated people with an interest in culture, travel and fashion.

CHARITY

Smartaupairs is proud to support Demelza House. Not only is every confirmed au pair position celebrated through a small donation, we actively get involved.

Why?

The quote below is from the Demelza House website and it ‘stopped me in my tracks’;

Quote

Demelza House Children's Hospice aims to provide support to families who have a child with a life limiting condition.

We recognise that each child is a unique, developing individual whose best interests must be paramount.

Our focus is on adding life to days when days cannot be added to life.

Unquote

Demelza House is in Kent, which is local to us. Their service and care is for children and families, which is why we feel we want to do what we can to support them.

In some cases, charity support is limited to an annual donation, which is of course a welcome support to any charity, however, at Smartaupairs, we wanted to do more than that to support Demelza.

What?

We have regular meetings with our representative from Demelza House and offer our support as follows.

Volunteering;

We encourage our team and our au pairs in Kent to be actively involved with lending a hand at Demelza House events. We understand that there is a need for people who can help with various tasks ranging from serving cups of tea to gardening and it is a great way for us to get together and to get ‘stuck in’. Our au pairs agree that helping out as a volunteer is a uniquely rewarding experience and the events are a great place to meet other people. Last year our pairs helped with the Demelza run at Leeds Castle!

Ambassador;

Demelza house frequently receives requests from all over Kent to provide speakers to attend schools, Women's Institute meetings, businesses, churches, Golf Clubs etc. to promote Demelza House.

Receiving cheques and saying 'thank you' is also a very important and rewarding role for ambassadors. It is important that they raise awareness of Demelza within the community to raise funds. Nicole Kofkin has signed up as an Ambassador and hopes her public speaking skills can be of use. So far I have attended events at Waitrose in Tenterden and at Givaudan in Ashford. Both companies worked hard to support Demelza!

Donations;

Our au pair agency has agreed to a ‘Give As You Earn’ scheme and we will set aside a minimum of £2 for every au pair placement to support Demelza. We also purchase many of our courtesy gifts and all our  christmas cards from Demelza.
